How To Prevent An Ant Invasion In Your Car

Well, summertime is here and the summer parties are in full swing!  Humans aren't the only ones getting outdoors during these warmer temperatures.  No sir-ree!

Ants are out looking for food and water, so you may be surprised to find some crawling across your dashboard.  Mostly they are after the food crumbs you left behind from your last picnic or from the food you carried to the park for your child's birthday party.

But sometimes, there has been no food or water at all in the vehicle, and you see you have an infestation anyway.  How can you prevent this?

First, you can be more conscious about where you park your car.  Park as far away from ant trails as you can.  Also, don't park near vegetation since they are nesting grounds for ants.

Second, you can remove all items that attract heat.  Any kind of battery-operated devices such as MP3 players draw ants to the area.

And if you still find that you have those pesky critters despite taking all precautions, just pull out your trusty flamethrower.  That will take care of them.

9 Unique Party Ideas for Kids

Your child's birthday party is coming up, but you don't quite know what to do.  You've seen your friends throw the traditional parties with pirates and princesses and superheroes, but you want to do something different.  Time is running out and you have to get the invitations in the mail quick.  What are you going to do???

Here are a few ideas that may help.  They are very economical and they don't take a lot of time to prepare.

1.  Arabian Nights.  Think of magic lamps, exotic fabrics, flying carpets, mint tea and Moroccan rice.  Add Jasmine and Aladdin and you're in a whole new world!

2.  Craft Party.  Set up materials and have your guests make jewelry, ornaments, or hair bands.

3.  1980s Dance Party.  Bring back the big hair and dance to Michael Jackson all day.

4.  Hurray for Hollywood!  The kids can dress like movie stars and enjoy theme decorations complete with Oscar statues and a red carpet.

5.  Picnic Party.  Instead of having a traditional sit down meal, spread blankets on the grass and have a picnic!

6.  Backwards Party.  Do everything backwards.  Have the cake first, then the meal.  Everyone can walk backwards, and even wear their clothes backwards.

7.  Make Your Own Food Party.  Everyone can make their own pizza or sandwiches.  They can even decorate their own cupcakes or cookies.

8.  Campfire Party.  Roast weenies and marshmallows in the back yard.  You can even make Smores and tell campfire stories.

9.  Your Favorite Painting.  Come dressed as your favorite painting!  Mona Lisa?  Little Boy Blue?  Sunflowers?  You can even add painting as a fun activity.  The kids can try to paint themselves, perhaps?

If you can think of any other ideas, feel free to share them in the comment section below.

Organic Border

Organic balloon designs are the latest craze in balloon decorating.  Yesterday, we did and organic border for a Chick-Fil-A grand opening.  As you can see, it makes a powerful impact on the overall look of the restaurant.
